A Modern Wedding Gown

By Laura Brown

For one of the best events in a woman's life, having that perfect wedding dress will make it more special. In choosing the best gown, it must be better to suggest something fresh, fashionable and innovative. This opens the door to a variety of choices for modern wedding gowns which came from master designers and even from those brides who are brainstorming just to come up with an exceptional looking dress that matches their taste and personality. Whether wearing it once or twice is not that important. For as long as the gown will make the lady feel comfortable and happy carrying it while walking down the aisle, why give too much of a worry about it?

The Fashion Cycle

Most of the modern wedding dresses are vintage inspired. From the European Renaissance, timeless wedding gown of Queen Victoria and World War II brides to the popular style of the 90's. Truly, history played a huge part on the bridal fashion's evolution. With a wide range of years to get inspired from, master designers would only have to think of how they can mix it with the new materials and fashion techniques to make it look brand new and trendy.

A vintage inspired wedding dress is getting more popular as of this time. Aside from the old world feel, it has that kind of appearance that every woman had ever wanted especially if it has been slightly altered and integrated with current fashion techniques and discoveries. Aside from looking back to the history, a modern dress could also be inspirited from nature, music and culture.

Components of a Modern Wedding Dress

A dress won't be a trend if it's not because of its design, length and color. At these times, women are into a lot of mix and match, pairing, and even trying out daring cuts. Instead of wearing long gowns and having its train carried by her bridesmaids, some brides would go for different lengths. They can choose from mid-thigh cuts, knee-length, ballerina and tea-length. Even a mini-skirt length is now available.

When it comes to color, it doesn't always have to be white. There are times when the couple are choosing a color theme for their wedding. This is the best opportunity to try out different colors for the bride. Many have tried blue, green, pink, purple and peach. When it comes to cuts and designs, asymmetrical wedding dresses are the hottest nowadays. A bit of embroideries, laces and further details will bring that dream modern wedding dress to perfection.
